They are happy living on their own and have decided that is how it will be for the rest of their lives. As we discuss this further, I hear about the challenges they have had in their past when it comes to love and begin to understand how they have come to this conclusion. But the question I ask is, do you really want to give up on love? Or is it that you don’t trust you can find someone that will be a good partner? The key to love is that it isn’t about going out into the world and searching for that person. We need to attract the right partner to us. Can we just sit down, envision that person, and then they will appear? Unfortunately it isn’t quite that simple. We must do some internal work first on ourselves. The first step is to look at your life and identify patterns or behaviours that you have established that are not working in a positive way for you. Once we identify something, we can then start to shift and change it to what we want. It takes courage to look at ourselves honestly and fully but when we do, we are taking our power back over our lives. As we look at ourselves, we may find that some of our beliefs or behaviours are ones that we learned but aren’t really ours. Mary Stevenson has always had a passion for life, people, and animals.
